ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- Anderson County authorities say the 21-year-old driver of a vehicle that struck a utility pole died after a shooting outside a local nightclub.
An autopsy will determine what killed India Lomax of Anderson.
Deputies found her and a passenger in a pickup after it hit a parked car and pole about 4 a.m. Saturday. Lomax had been shot in the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene; 33-year-old Willis Donald of Anderson had been shot in the arm. He was taken to a hospital.
Deputies say the shooting stemmed from a fight at Marvon's. Armed private security guards attempted to disperse the crowd. One of the guards said he attempted to stop Lomax's truck and fired his weapon in self-defense when it veered in his direction.
The investigation continues.
