MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Myrtle Beach officials have cut the ribbon on a new $118 million terminal at the Myrtle Beach International Airport.
The new terminal was dedicated Sunday and opens to passengers on April 2. It has more space and added gates. It also has remote check-in kiosks for passengers and new restaurants.
Officials say the new terminal also will mean faster retrieval of luggage.
During the coming week, workers will review all the systems and make final checks before the new facility is open to for flights. Then the old terminal will be closed.
Myrtle Beach is the heart of South Carolina $15 billion tourism industry.
