COLLEVILLE-SUR-MER, France (AP) — France's president says his country won't forget what it owes American soldiers.

Francois Hollande and President Barack Obama spoke this morning at the Normandy American Cemetery on a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach.

Obama said America's commitment to liberty is "written in blood on these beaches."

Veterans of the D-Day invasion sat in the audience and were given a long standing ovation.
