Power report calls distracting emergency officials

Aiken County, SC (WRDW) - The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is asking people to stop calling emergency numbers to report downed power lines or outages.

Officials say they're being distracted from dire emergencies.

If you are without power or you see a tree fall or a transformer blow, call your utility company.

Here are the numbers you need-
SCE&G- 888-333-4465
Aiken Electric- 1-800-922-1262
Georgia Power- 888-891-0938.

People within the city of Aiken are asked to call to report trees and debris in the roadway.

You should continue calling your utility company to report downed power lines.
