ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta police say a man has been hospitalized after being shot at Morehouse College.

Police spokesman John Chafee says officers responded to a report of a shooting on the campus Friday night. They have turned the investigation over to Morehouse campus police.

Chafee says the man was shot in his arm and was alert after the incident. A Morehouse College spokeswoman said school officials were gathering information on the incident and additional details were not immediately available.

It was unclear if the victim and shooter were students of the college. Details on the exact location where the shooting occurred were not immediately available.
