ELLENWOOD, Ga. (AP) -- Police are searching for a 14-year-old girl after they say two home invaders abducted her from her house south of Atlanta.

14-year-old Ayvani Hope Perez is described as Hispanic with brown eyes and black hair. She's 4 feet, 9 inches and 93 pounds.

Police early Tuesday morning were stopping cars and checking them during an all-out search for the girl.

Clayton County police say the two men entered the Ellenwood home through a back door around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say the woman inside tried to hide her two children.

Clayton County police Officer Phong Nguyen said the home invaders demanded money and jewelry from the woman. Police say that when she said she didn't have any, one of the men shot the family dog. They say the girl was then taken.
