CLAYTON, N.J. (AP) -- The parents of a 12-year-old New Jersey girl allegedly killed by two teenage brothers say their daughter was treated "like a piece of trash."

Authorities found Autumn Pasquale's body in a recycling bin Monday night after a 48-hour search in her hometown of Clayton.

Two teen brothers in town were charged Tuesday with murdering her.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since their daughter's body was found, Jennifer Cornwell and Anthony Pasquale describe their daughter as a good girl who was fun to be around.

Cornwell says the girl was "a tough cookie" who would want the family to be strong.

The brothers, who are 15 and 17, are charged as juveniles. Their names haven't been released.
