WASHINGTON (AP) -- Three hundred more U.S. troops are heading to Iraq.
Officials say the additional troops will help beef up security at the U.S. Embassy and the Baghdad area, and they'll protect U.S. citizens and property.
That'll bring the number of American troops in Iraq to about 750. U.S. officials say the additional forces will work with Iraq as it confronts extremists from the group Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
