NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- A mother and her 23-year-old son have been charged in two robberies along the Grand Strand.

Authorities say 42-year-old Terena McWhorter and her son, Joshua Thomas, worked together to steal a purse from a woman in a store parking lot in North Myrtle Beach as they asked directions last Thursday.

Police say the pair also robbed someone in the parking lot of a grocery store in Little River.

Investigators say the mother and son used credit cards taken in the robberies.

Both suspects remain in the Horry County jail. It wasn't known if they had lawyers.
