HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) -- Officials are trying to identify a body found floating in the ocean on the north end of Hilton Head Island.
The Beaufort County sheriff's department was called to the beach around noon Wednesday. Several people on the beach spotted the man's body, which was pulled to shore.
Sheriff's deputies say the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was wearing only swim trunks. His body has been sent to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
