COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Police have arrested a man they say was driving a car that landed on top of a Columbia home after a high-speed chase.
Columbia police said Monday 31-year-old Antwon Ashley faced charges including reckless driving, hit and run with property damage, littering and trafficking crack cocaine.
Early Saturday, Columbia police say an officer noticed what he said looked like a drug deal involving a car that did not have headlights on. Police say the suspect did not stop for the officer's blue lights and sirens, sped away and landed on top of a home in the Forest Acres neighborhood.
No one inside the home was hurt. Police say Ashley fled but left behind crack cocaine and cash.
Ashley was jailed Monday. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
