MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say a 57-year-old Macon man has died from injuries he suffered in a severe beating three weeks earlier.
The Telegraph of Macon reports that Harold Greene died early Saturday at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Greene had been taken off life support.
Authorities found Green beaten and unconscious in downtown Macon on April 4. Jones says he had been knocked to the ground and kicked in the head.
Police arrested 59-year-old Lonnie Floyd Layson and charged him with aggravated assault in the attack on Greene. He remains jailed in Bibb County and could face additional charges stemming from Greene's death.
