NEW YORK (AP) -- The Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer charity is reversing its decision to cut breast-screening grants to Planned Parenthood.
The charity issued a statement Friday apologizing to the American public for recent decisions that it says "cast doubt upon our commitment to our mission of saving women's lives."
The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that Komen had adopted criteria excluding Planned Parenthood from grants, citing a government probe launched at the urging of anti-abortion groups.

Komen CEO Nancy Brinker has said Handel did not have a significant role in the policy change.
