GEORGIA (WRDW) -- The Georgia Department of Health (DPH) is warning people of a potential health survey phone scam.
The DPH has reported several residents complaining of suspicious phone calls from out of state numbers asking them to participate in a health-related survey.
In some cases, the caller asks questions about medical and surgical information after telling the recipient they are from the department of health.
In other calls, the caller asks questions about ethnicity and religion, among other things, and the caller may try to sell goods or services.
The DPH is investigating these calls.
The DPH does occasionally conduct phone surveys for information on health trends. Surveyors for the DPH will do the following:
