GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) -- A Gaffney man has died after a tree limb fell on him during a Fourth of July thunderstorm.
Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says the victim was 34-year-old Paul Terrell Littlejohn.
Fowler says Littlejohn was hit by the large limb while standing under an oak tree in the yard of his home around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The limb fell about 25 feet during winds that were gusting to about 40 mph.
Littlejohn was taken to Novant Health-Gaffney Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later.
