Former State Representative Robin Williams released from prison

Columbia County, GA (WRDW) -- Former State Representative Robin Williams has been released from Federal Prison.

The Bureau of Public Affairs told News 12 he was released and is in transit to a Halfway House.

His sentence runs until July 2013.

In 2005, Williams was sentenced along with four others on thirty counts, including fraud, money laundering and bribery.

They were convicted of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Mental Health Center on Mike Padgett Highway.

Williams worked as a consultant and lobbyist in Columbia County.
