ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- Two Darton State College wrestlers remain hospitalized in Albany and a third has been discharged after school officials say they experienced heat illness during practices this week.
WALB-TV in Albany reports (http://bit.ly/17FMQIF ) wrestling practices have been canceled for the rest of the week. One wrestler was taken to the hospital Tuesday after collapsing during a five-mile team run. Two other wrestlers were hospitalized Wednesday.
WALKB-TV says one those wrestlers remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Darton State Athletic Director Mike Keifer tells WALB-TV that the "health and safety of our student athletes is a priority" and the school has protocols in place for dealing with heat illness.
WALB-TV says Darton State College President Peter Sireno visited Friday with the two wrestlers who remain in the hospital and their families.
