WALTERBORO, S.C. (AP) -- A middle school student in Colleton County has been expelled after bringing a BB gun to school.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported the sixth-grader was expelled after being tied to BB guns at school twice this year.
Officials say the student had been moved from Colleton Middle School to an alternative school program after the first incident at the beginning of the school year.
Colleton County Assistant Superintendent Bob Pence says another student was caught with a BB gun in the past month and the gun was traced back to the student who had been disciplined earlier.
Pence did not know if it was the same gun both times.
He says the gun was never fired.
