CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities have identified a man whose body was found in the Stono River.
Charleston County Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal says the body found late Sunday morning on Johns Island was that of 39-year-old George Hank Melfi of Charleston.
O'Neal says Melfi fell into the water Saturday while boating.
An autopsy was planned Monday.
Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson said deputies had been searching Melfi since Saturday when two boaters were on the Stono River when their 13-foot boat developed engine problems. Watson said one of the boaters fell in the water while they were trying to secure the boat to a dock.
