AIKEN, S.C.---The sheriff's department says there will be no charges in the case of an Aiken County deputy who was killed while directing traffic.

Sgt. Jason Sheppard was directing traffic around an industrial fire on Highway 1 near Aiken's airport.

A woman from Asheville, North Carolina hit him with her SUV, throwing him through the air.

He died later at the hospital.

This morning, the sheriff's department says they found the woman was not speeding and did everything she could to avoid the accident, so there won't be any charges.
