Election Runoff today

Polls are now open for runoff elections today.

Election offices are expecting a good voter turnout after last week's high advance voting percentages.

The superior court judge seat is up for grabs. Richmond, Columbia and Burke counties will vote on that between Bill Williams and David Roper.

Richmond and Columbia County voters will also choose new school board chairmen.

Board member A.K. Hasan faces off with Venus Cain for the District 9 seat of the school board in Augusta, and Lee Muns faces Regina Buccafusco in Columbia County.

SC state prisoner escapes in Aiken County

The search is on for a state prisoner who escaped in Aiken County.

Ronnie Gunnells walked away from his job site Monday.

He's a prisoner at the Lower Savannah Pre-Release Center in Aiken.

Gunnells is serving a sentence from Greenwood County for larceny.

He was last seen in an older model Jeep Cherokee with South Carolina tag 363 VTT.

Golf course investigations continue

The commission subcommittee continues their investigation into mishandlings at the Augusta Municipal Golf Course and who else could be involved.

The former head of the golf course, Guy Reid, was released on bond after being charged with two felony counts of theft Friday.

Investigators believe he took more than $3300 from the city-owned course before resigning as manager in October.

Reid's friends say they stand behind him.

Aiken County man accused of sexually assaulting 4 children

Two arrest warrants are issued for an Aiken County man facing four counts of sexual assault.

22-year-old Brandon Johnston allegedly sexually assaulted two boys, ages four and five years old, between May 2001 and August 2002.

It's also stated in the warrant that Johnston attacked two other boys in North Augusta.

Johnston is being held in the Aiken County Jail.

His bond has been denied.

Two Augusta men wanted for child molestation

Two Augusta men, 20-year-old Andre "Dre" McCladdie and 26-year-old Shep Jones, who goes by K-Dog, are wanted for child molestation.

They've been seen around Augusta's East Boundary area and River Glen.

McCladdie drives a white Chevy Malibu and Jones has "K-Dog" tattooed on his arm.

Both men may be armed and dangerous.

Another man wanted in Red Carpet Inn shooting

A man is wanted for questioning in a September murder.

Richmond County deputies want to talk to 18-year-old Kevin Deloach about a deadly shooting at the Red Carpet Inn.

Deputies believe Deloach may know something about the murder of Terrance Moore.

Three others have already been charged for that crime.

Stealing Christmas

Thieves are trying to enjoy the holidays as well as families and businesses.

There are 30 burglary reports from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office from homes and business from over the weekend.

Investigators say the stolen items sound like a Christmas list. Toys, jewelry, and electronics are included, all totaling about $50,000.

Investigators say you have a better chance of getting your items back if you have pictures or serial numbers.
