Talks are underway that may change the future of Graniteville.
If all goes as expected, some of the Avondale mills in Graniteville will have a new owner.
Aiken County businessman Weldon Wyatt has an agreement to buy three textile mills, more than 1500 acres of land, and several office buildings.
The agreement includes Avondale's Gregg, Hickman, and Stevens steam plants.
The purchase agreement is in place, but no details will be released until the deal is final.
Wyatt already bought one plant in September, the Woodhead mill. It has since had its name changed to Graniteville Specialty Fabrics.
