Historic Augusta wants to preserve the look of downtown. Today they released Augusta's 2007 Most Endangered Properties list. The goal is that by profiling the properties, they can be saved.
There are several properties on this list, including several historic properties along the Augusta Canal, the old Davidson School on Telfair Street, the old VA Hospital on Wrightsboro Road, and several properties on Greene Street.
"We've lost so many over the last 30 to 40 years that we just want to see that stopping, and we want to turn these properties back to productive properties on the tax roll to benefit the cultures here in Augusta," said Clay Boardman, president of Historic Augusta.
