Last year they raised more than $730,000 for local causes. This year they hope to do even better.
Today was the kickoff for the Combined Federal Campaign at Fort Gordon.
A roomful of enlisted men and women were joined by military brass and representatives from the Social Security Office to the postal service to the FAA.
They met at Alexander Hall to hear why their donations are so important.
I was pleased to be the emcee for this year's kick off, and surprised when Brigadier General Ronald Bouchard presented me with my own set of BDUs, a battle dress uniform.
I was named an honorary 2nd Lt. after graduating from Augusta in Army Boots a few years ago, and now I'll be able to dress the part.
