Georgia, South Carolina up overall; Richmond County down in SATs

August 29, 2006

Scores are out for the college entrance test known as SAT.

Georgia ranks 46th among other states, passing Florida, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Hawaii.

South Carolina is no longer last in the nation in average scores. Hawaii and the District of Columbia have lower scores.

The new test has a possible score of 2400 after adding a writing segment.

Richmond County scores dropped 61 points for the combined reading and math scores on the latest testing. Changes to the test are being blamed for that.
