Wildfire-related injuries, deaths are on the rise in Georgia

Suburban growth, this year's generally dry conditions, and changes in land-use patterns are causing a rise in wildfire-related injuries and deaths in Georgia.

Forest rangers say that with development pushing into rural areas and dry woods, grass and weeds burn more intensely.

Several southeastern states are having a deadlier wildfire season than usual.
