It's a day to say thanks for one of the most thank-less jobs around...being a mom.

Some unsuspecting mothers ended up spending their Mother's Day in the delivery room.

Every mother we spoke to at University Hospital on Sunday told us their new bundle of joy came as a nice little surprise for the holiday weekend.

Through it all, moms always manage to set aside their own needs...even on Mother's Day.

For Emily fFgins, it's a day filled with firsts and many more to come. For the pros like Lori, who already has a set of six-year-old twins and a three-year-old, each time always feels like a first.

They couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day gift.

23 babies were born over the weekend at University Hospital. That's twice the number compared to last year.
