A week after a deadly shooting in a south Augusta neighborhood, the accused shooter, 14-year-old Johnny Thai Dinh, is out of jail on bond.

Neighbors say that since the shooting both families have moved out of their homes...one because of memories, the other because of fear of retaliation.

"They said they just couldn't take it anymore," says neighbor Peggy Swigart.

She's talking about Rodney McGhee, Jr.'s family. They've moved since finding their 20-year-old son dead at the end of their road on Keron Way a week ago.

The accused shooter is 14-year-old Johnny Thai Dinh. His family has since moved too.

"They left because they were afraid somebody was going to retaliate against them," Swigart says.

Now a memorial stands in place...something that is a constant reminder for Rodney McGhee Jr.'s family.

"He said he's selling the place because every time he comes by there...he said he doesn't want to cry every day," Swigart says.

And now the accused shooter is out of jail on bond. Peggy Swigart feels bond may not have been a good idea.

"I don't think it's safe for him to be out."

Judge Carlisle Overstreet set a $25,000 bond for Johnny Thai Dinh.

The district attorney's office is working on an indictment.
