CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Fewer than 100 people were in shelters
in Charleston and Horry counties as Tropical Storm Hanna spins
toward the coast.

State Emergency Management Division spokesman Adam Myrick said
86 people were staying in Charleston County shelters but only six
in Horry County as of Friday evening.

The Red Cross also set up Georgetown County shelter, but no one
had shown up by late Friday. Emergency officials were planning to
open more shelters in Charleston and Dorchester counties.

By noon, a shelter at Stall High School in North Charleston had
only 18 people, including Mona Scoggins. Her family lost their home
in Hurricane Katrina and she wasn't taking any chances.

She lives in Charleston now and says she gets very nervous when
a storm approaches.
