Oklahoma City, OK--
An elderly man was killed and his wife injured when a construction crane toppled onto their car Thursday morning.
Officers say the crane crew was putting a church steeple into place when the accident happened. The 80-year old man was crushed inside his car, and his 78-year old wife was hurt. She is expected to recover.
The crane operator was not injured.
This is the latest in a series of accidents involving cranes in the U.S.
Last week, a crane collapsed at a Houston-area refinery, killing four people and injuring six others. Other cranes have collapsed this year in New York City, Las Vegas and the Miami area.
