Residents of a Columbia County subdivision were evacuated from their homes during a scare Friday morning.
A construction crew hit a high-pressure gas main line, causing a gas leak on Glenwood Drive at Carol Court.
That's in the Glenwood subdivision off of Belair Road.
Martinez-Columbia firefighters evacuated families from 20 homes near the leak.
Sheriff's deputies also blocked the entrance to the subdivision.
The gas company also arrived, and things were quickly brought under control.
The all clear was given at 9:54 a.m., and residents were allowed back into their homes.
No injuries have been reported.
