A Capital City ambulance was driving Emmy Stacks from the Place at Augusta Nursing Home yesterday when it was hit at the intersection of River Watch Parkway and Stevens Creek Road.
Stacks was in the back of the ambulance when she died. No one else was hurt.
The driver of the Chevy Suburban that hit the ambulance has been charged with failure to yield.
It's unclear if the victim died before the actual crash.
An autopsy will be performed later today at the GBI crime lab.
