Christopher Vogt of North Augusta was arrested early Thursday.

Deputies say he was driving a white Acura that hit a man walking on Greene Street, near the entrance to Calhoun Expressway.

That happened around 9:30 Wednesday night. The impact threw the victim about 100 feet.

Officers still aren't identifying the victim, but he had a driver's license from Michigan indicating he was 45 years old.

Parts of the vehicle were scattered at the crash site and that helped deputies in their investigation.

Vogt has been charged with first degree vehicular homicide, DUI, and felony hit and run.
