Man dead after hit-and-run downtown
A man is dead after a hit and run at the intersection of 12th and Greene Street.
It happened Wednesday night after 9:30 when a white car hit a pedestrian, throwing the man 100 feet and killing him instantly.
The victim is described as a white male in his 40's. Authorities found a Michigan driver's license on the man. Deputies temporarily blocked off the entrance of Calhoun Expressway until they could clear the bumper and pieces of debris left in the street.
The coroner is waiting to notify next of kin before releasing the man's name.
