After a deadly accident three weeks ago, part of Olive Road remains closed.
But discussion about it reopening continues.
Today Mayor Copenhaver met with Commissioner Marion Williams and the city's engineering director to decide if the overpass is safe enough for cars to pass under.
Marion Williams wants the road opened immediately because he says the detour is causing a major inconvenience to people in his district.
The committee decided today that the road will reopen, but only after stop signs are placed before the bridge and once the beams are properly bolted to the overpass.
The mayor says that’s something the railroad company, CSX, needs to fix.
