According to the Thompson Police Department, they received the call at about 6:58 pm in reference to a shooting at 511 Knox Street. Upon arrival, they found Tobias Jones, a 26 year old black male of Thomson, lying in the yard with a single gunshot wound to the chest area.

It was determined that Walter Parker Jr., 24 year old black male of Thomson had shot Jones and left the area on foot. Jones was transported to MCG by McDuffie Co. EMS where he is listed in critical condition.
