CLARKS HILL -- A 20 year old Augusta man dies in a drowning accident tonight at Clark's Hill Lake.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says It happened around 7 o'clock near the West Dam Recreation Area.

They identify the victim as Serrmaster Dozier of Rozier Road in Augusta.

The coroner says Dozier drowned while he was trying to swim a hundred yards from the shore to a sandbar, and he got a leg cramp and panicked.

Investigators say the man's fiance and her family were there and tried to save him, but they were unable to.

Dozier's body will now go to the crime lab on Monday for an autopsy.

His Fiance' attend my church Faith Outreach and she was very upset in church. She did attend service

I wish i could've saved him, we were there when it happened and there was nothing we could do. My heart goes out to the family with deepest sympathy.
