COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley appears in a fifth-season episode of the Lifetime television series "Army Wives."
According to the show's website, the governor is in the second episode of the new season set to air Sunday night. Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey confirmed the governor's appearance.
The show follows the friendship of a group of women and one man who have spouses in the Army. Haley can relate because her husband, Michael, is an officer in the Army National Guard.
"Army Wives" has filmed in Charleston since 2006. The show's producers say it contributed more than $120 million to the local economy when they threatened last year to move production elsewhere if economic incentives for filmmakers were not renewed by state lawmakers.
