AUGUSTA, Ga. --- Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters made several announcements today.

The first is the creation of the Masters Tournament Foundation. The Foundation is a nonprofit “inspired by the enduring philosophies of Masters Tournament Founders Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts.”

“The establishment of the Masters Tournament Foundation is central to fulfilling our responsibility of supporting the game’s continuous growth around the world,” Chairman Billy Payne said in a news release. “This tradition, shaped by our Founders Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, is the cornerstone of the Foundation’s important commitment.”

The Foundation will be used to support the Masters’ golf development goals and reach more people. Some things already created are the Junior Pass Program, the televising of the Par 3 Contest, the co-founding of the Asian Amateur Championship and the continuing financial support of The First Tee.

Another announcement is that the Masters Tournament will be featured in the next Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 golf game from EA Sports. The Masters will be available in stores March 29, just before this year’s Masters. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be contributed to the Masters Tournament Foundation.
