CRAWFORDVILLE, Ga.-- Crawfordville, Georgia is starring on the big screen this week and it is not the first time. "Get Low" is the 13th movie shot in this town.

Robert Kendrick lives in Crawfordville and has been in several films as an extra, a job he will do again in "Get Low".

"It's a lot of fun. A lot of excitement. I've got calls from all over the Southeast of people wanting to come watch this movie. Half of them want to watch it, the other half want to be in it," Robert Kendrick said.

The new movie takes place in the 1930s. It's about a man who had a disappointed love life and withdrew from society, and as the man gets older he worries about the town giving him a proper burial.

The movie stars Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Lucas Black, and Bill Murray. They're filming part of it downtown, where some of the buildings have not changed since 1910. Buildings that use to be vacant have been turned into a clothing store and a barber shop. Crews spent days painting signs on the store fronts, and changing the windows. Some of the locals even played a part.

"My daughter and I were chosen for extra's, and don't know exactly what we're doing yet, but it doesn't matter because it's just fun to be here," Sandra Ingram said.

It's movie number 13 for Crawfordville, and each time the crews move in, it makes people like Kendrick proud of their town.

"Just meeting people. Just seeing the activity and meeting people, and seeing my town with a little life in it again," Kendrick said.

Thursday is the second day of filming in Crawfordville. "Get Low" should be done by late 2009.
