A neighbor says Crystal Lynne Quick's 9-year-old son told him that his mother beat and bit him. The child told the neighbor that he was worried his mother would also hurt his 3-year-old brother because she was drunk.

Grovetown Police fined McKenzie Ussery nearly $300 for firing three shots into a paper cup in his yard. Ussery appeared in magistrate court Tuesday afternoon, but his case will be moved to superior court.
