COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. -- Another woman has been arrested in connection to the jewelry theft from the home of Renee Dean, wife of former Harlem Mayor and Columbia County Commissioner Scott Dean.

Eva Lopez-Macias Nevarez, 38, was seen on surveillance video with Marlin Dean, adopted daughter of Renee and Scott. She allegedly brought her kids into the Gold Shop on Washington Road and sold the jewelry with Marlin.

Nevarez is awaiting trial for burglary and theft by receiving stolen property. Her bond has been set at $15,200.

Investigators say Marlin took about $26,000 worth of jewelry from her mother's Harlem home last month. She was arrested on charges of burglary and theft by taking.

Only a few pieces of the jewelry have been recovered, all of which has come from the Gold Shop.

News 12 first told you investigators believed Marlin was not working alone and they were working to identify Marlin's help. Investigators still think others may have helped Marlin pawn jewelry in other locations, making it difficult to track down jewelry.

Marlin's adopted father, Mr. Dean, is serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted of two counts of child molestation in December. He was convicted of sexually molesting one of his other adopted daughters, touching her and exposing himself to her.
