COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- The woman accused of murdering her 2-year-old before crashing her car made her first appearance in court Tuesday.
Marina Middlebrooks's case is being turned over to superior court and a grand jury. She will remain in jail until her bond hearing in front of a superior court judge.
Middlebrooks is facing charges of malice murder and first-degree child cruelty after her daughter was found dead following a wreck in Appling on May 2.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Middlebrooks killed her daughter, Sky Allen, by stabbing her in the neck with a pair of scissors. The 2-year-old was found dead at the scene of the wreck in the front of the car.
