AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The trial for the 20-year-old Augusta man accused of shooting and killing an elderly man as he watched television began this week.

Investigators say four men broke into the 81-year-old man's home on Hoods Lane after firing a shot through the window in May 2011. Johnny Luckey died instantly.

Deputies say Joseph Jordan pulled the trigger.

Jordan's murder trial began Tuesday. After being seated, jurors heard from three witnesses, including two neighbors and a deputy.

The trial continued Wednesday morning with testimony from a crime scene investigator who showed graphic video from inside the home.

In the video, jurors saw the bullet holes, a ransacked home and the lifeless victim.

Johnny Luckey's son, David, became emotional in the courtroom as he watched the video of his father lying on the living room floor with gunshot wounds, still hooked up to an oxygen tank.

At the time of the incident, investigators say the four boys had planned the home invasion for well over a week. The motive is believed to be robbery. Luckey's housekeeper happens to be related to one of the accused robbers.

The other three men have since pleaded guilty and are serving from 20 years to life in prison for their roles. As part of their plea agreement, they will testify against the accused ringleader, Jordan.
