AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Jurors have said they're scared for their safety in the murder trial of a Martinez man.

The trial for Hector Torres, who is accused in a 2010 crime spree, started back up Wednesday morning.

The two jurors said they are worried that the accomplices of Hector Torres will hurt them. It resulted in one juror leaving for what the court described as "medical reasons."

Once a replacement juror was found, closing arguments started and quickly wrapped up.

Deliberations will begin on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Torres' accomplices, Hamlet Perdomo and Michael Rewis, are currently in jail awaiting their trials.

Deputies say the trio went on a crime spree involving multiple victims in September 2010. It started with a shooting incident on Telfair Street, then the murder of 56-year-old Carl Bush on Reynolds Street. From there, the three men allegedly robbed two people at gunpoint on Tubman Home Road and then a man and his girlfriend on Fenwick Street. Investigators say they then abducted and sexually assaulted the woman.
