AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- A teen was arrested after allegedly leading officers on a chase and being found with a gun on Tuesday afternoon.

The officer first spotted the juvenile riding on a bike near Carver Terrace. He knew the teen was wanted, so he started to pursue him.

The juvenile spotted the officer and tried cutting through Pace's Run Apartments, on Brandt Circle, on his bicycle.

When the officer caught up with him, the officer says the teen got off his bicycle and started running.

The officer says he saw the juvenile reach into his jacket pocket, which is when he told him to stop running. The juvenile allegedly kept running but was eventually taken into custody.

Officers found a handgun a few feet from where they found the teen and discovered the gun was stolen earlier in the day from a car.

The teen was charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a stolen pistol, possession of a pistol by a minor and failure to comply with PSO. He was also charged with possession of a stolen pistol and possession of a pistol by a minor from a previous incident in December.
