AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- Investigators are looking for two suspects after recovering stolen ATVs in Aiken County.
The search is on for Lemarcus Jahmal Dupree and Laquavis Marcus Williams. Dupree and Williams are believed to be in the North Aiken area. Both are wanted on charges of receiving or possessing stolen goods.
Christopher Lee Basnight is already in custody in connection to the crime.
Investigators say the three men were involved with the possession of stolen golf carts, dirt bikes and ATVs.
"Messes your nerves up a little bit knowing somebody came into your yard, especially out here," said Cameron White, who had two dirt bikes and one ATV stolen from his family on Good Springs Road. "It's takes a lot of guts to walk over a hundred yards to take something and push it when anybody can go by."
Days ago, it was good news for White. The dirt bikes were returned by the Sheriff's Office, and they'll soon get the ATV back, too.
"It's crazy! I didn't believe it until [deputies] were here," he said.
On Thursday, the Sheriff's Office also released evidence photos of the stockpile of ATVs, golf carts and dirt bikes they recovered. While many have owners, some of them do not.
If you suspect one is yours, call the Aiken County Criminal Investigations Division at (803) 642-1790.
Anyone with information about the crime itself is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at (800) 922-9709. Individuals can also call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
News 12 is told at least one of Houndslake Country Club's carts has been recovered. Sgt. Jason Feemster says they originally got the tip that led to the bust from someone who found their lost property on Craigslist.
When it comes to buying property on that site or on Facebook yard sale pages, Feemster says if the price is too good to be true, the item might be stolen.
