Suspects arrested on multiple drug charges

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County deputies arrested a man and woman after finding illegal substances in their car, according to an incident report.

Deputies approached 26-year-old Cornelius Mitchell and 25-year-old Tiffany Odom sitting in a parked car off of Ellis Street.

After asking the suspects to get out of the car, Mitchell allegedly ran away from deputies. Mitchell was tased and then caught.

The report shows Mitchell had 25.3 grams of methamphetamine, 1.2 grams of cocaine and 2 ecstasy pills in his pockets.

Ten grams of marijuana and 1.8 grams of methamphetamine were found in the car's console, according to the report.

Mitchell was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of ecstasy, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Odom was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
