NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- A man is in custody after allegedly stabbing another man during an argument in North Augusta early Friday morning.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office received the call at 12:51 a.m.

The victim says he and 29-year-old Jonathan Robert Jones were having an argument that turned physical on the 300 block of Second Avenue.

According to the incident report, the victim says Jones swung a razor blade-type knife at him, which cut his left forearm when he tried to block the blade. He claims Jones swung it at him a second time, which hit him in the side as he tried to move away.

Deputies eventually found Jones hiding in an abandoned home nearby after getting tips from witnesses.

Jones was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center and is expected to be charged with attempted murder.

The victim's injuries are not said to be life threatening.
