Soldier impersonator to be sentenced

Monday, May 9, 2011

AUGUSTA---The man accused of impersonating a soldier and taking weapons onto Fort Gordon will soon learn his sentence. Anthony Todd Saxon is expected to go before Judge Dudley Bowen on May 23.

Saxon was arrested in June 2010 after investigators say he dressed as a master sergeant and went onto Fort Gordon, stealing military equipment. 34-year-old Saxon first pleaded not guilty to seven charges in November.

In January, Saxon changed his plea to guilty before a federal judge. As part of his plea agreement, he admitted to three of the seven charges.
